Bob Lewis's Ministry Résumé

Dr. Robert (Bob) Lewis felt the call to be a minister of the Word in 1969 and was licensed to preach the Gospel at Oklahoma Avenue Baptist Church, Shawnee, OK. He began ministry as a youth director while getting his education. He preached at over one hundred youth events while in seminary, most of them three-to-four day local church evangelistic services.

Currently, Dr. Bob is a church consultant, preacher, and writer. He finished two years as Interim Director of Sacramento Region Baptist Network at the end of 2019. From 1988-2006 Lewis served as Executive Director of Sacramento Region Baptist Network.

During his last year in seminary in 1973 he was senior pastor of
24th Street Baptist Church, Sacramento, CA, where he
was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1974. He served
two other churches as senior pastor: Lodi Avenue Baptist
Church, Lodi, CA, and Rose Drive Baptist Church in

Yorba Linda, CA. Dr. Bob left Rose Drive Baptist Church
when he was called as the Director of the Sacramento
Association of Southern Baptist Churches, now called Sacramento
Region Baptist Network.

 

Dr. Bob has also served from 1993 till the present as a board member of Marketplace Missions, Inc., the founder of Sonshine Hacienda, a home for children in Baja California (please listen to the interview Vlog of Jack Weatherford).  

 

Dr. Bob has hosted 9 trips to Israel as well as trips to do mission work in El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Cambodia, and Argentina. He also did a pastor's tour in Turkey of the Biblical sites mentioned in the Bible.

 

Dr. Bob holds these degrees: A.A., B.A., Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry from Gateway Seminary.

Bob and Debbie have three children and five grandchildren.
